In short
- Tincture 1 : 5: 100 g of cleaned propolis to 500 ml of 70 % alcohol, 10–14 days with shaking.
- Only food-grade or pharmaceutical ethanol. Never methylated spirits, denatured alcohol, isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) or spirits of unknown origin.
- Propolis only from healthy hives with no treatments and no painted parts.
- 48-hour patch test before first use: propolis is a common cause of allergy.
- Tincture is alcohol: not for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or with medicines that don't mix with alcohol.
- Propolis is an aid to care, not a medicine. With serious complaints, see a doctor.
